Cody McBroom a.k.a “Boom Boom” is a successful online personal trainer who has helped thousands of people transform their body’s, change their attitudes, and live a healthier, more positive life!
Cody embodies what True Health Diary is all about and understands all too well the link behind having a healthy body and a healthy mind.

TrueHealthDiary.com caught up with Cody to hear his story and what advice he has to share:
What motivated you to become a personal trainer?
I had nothing else, literally. I was at a low point where 2 back to back traumatic knee injuries in soccer took me off the field, left me in crutches, added 40-50lbs of body fat, and honestly just destroyed my motivation.
But you can only last SO long in a slump… after a while I got fed up with what I saw in the mirror and decided to make a change, in fact it was the exact day I saw stretch marks beginning to show up that I made this shift.
This led to my own transformation, changing my college degrees, and eventually helping others make the same exact shift I made without all the mistakes I made in the process.
In your opinion, what is the key to living a healthy lifestyle?
The key to living a healthy lifestyle is to take it one step at a time, remembering that if the nutrition or training plan doesn’t fit into your lifestyle – it’s not the right nutrition or training plan.
Too many people try to completely shift their lifestyle according to a diet or training program, when in reality the only way to stay consistent is to flip that around and fit the plan to your lifestyle.
This allows a slower and more adherent process, which is the key to seeing real results. So just taking things one step, one habit, one implementation at a time always works best!
What effect does keeping fit and a healthy lifestyle have on your personal life?
Positivity. Simple as that.
I’m positive all the time because I FEEL good, inside and out. That reflects onto my motivation, my business, my fiancée and daughter, my friends, my employees… it reflects onto everything in my life.
I truly believe that when your body is thriving, everything else will follow suite and eventually begin to thrive as well.
What advice do you have for people looking to make a positive change to their life and become healthier?
Everything works as long as you adhere to it consistently. So stop getting sucked into the fads and all the different hacks/tactics you see in the media.
Instead, choose something that you know you could follow for 3, 6, or even 12 months. THAT’S what builds sustainable health.
The personal training market is booming at the moment, what makes you unique?
I bridge the gap between the average Joe or Jane and the elite athlete. I’ve worked with professional athletes and bodybuilders, but even more so the every day individual who is just trying to change their body composition and/or lifestyle.
Because of that, and because I understand that every single person is a different individual who needs a different approach, I’m able to take the science that makes results happen and break it down in a simple, stress free, applicable way for everyone to be able to use.
What services do you offer?
I am a coach, so I offer individualized training and nutrition coaching. But on my site, www.boomboomperformance.com, you’ll find ebooks, podcasts, videos, blogs, training programs, and so much more content that the average individual can visit my site and be completely set to start their journey!
What are your favourite methods for losing body fat?
I believe that everyone is so individual, that I can’t really pick one single method… because for each person, I use different methods and approaches. But for the sake of this article, I’m going to go with a combination of a macronutrient based nutrition plan and a smart strength training program. These 2 things play a bigger role in fat loss than ANY other method or modality.
